Biography Takeda Yoshihei (1892 - 1989)

Born in Nada Village, Ono District (Fuyukashira Town, Takayama City). After graduating from Gifu Prefectural Normal School in 1914, he began his teaching career. After visiting Kanae Yamamoto's Farmer's Art Research Institute, he began working on educational printmaking in Hida. In 1929 (Showa 4), he was transferred to Oita Prefectural Nakatsu Junior High School at the invitation of Kan'ichi Muto, a printmaker from Gifu who was a professor at Oita Normal School. In 1936 (Showa 11), he became a member of the Japan Print Association. In 1959, he established the Japan Print Association with Shiko Munakata, Yoshiro Nagase, and others. He is a member of Hakujitsukai. Nakatsu Citizen Honor Award. Died in Nakatsu City in 1989.
