Biography Fujimaki, Yoshio (1909 - 1935)
Fujimaki Yoshio was born in Tatebayashi. In 1930 he studied woodblock making from Hiratsuka Un'ichi's book on the technique of woodblock printing, Hanga no gihō (版画の技法). In 1931 he went to Tokyo. He soon met Ono Tadashige, who always considered him as his teacher, though they were the same age. Like Ono, he was a founding member of the Shin Hanga Shūdan in 1932. He contributed to Shin Hanga and exhibited regularly together with other members of Shin Hanga Shūdan. |
