Biography Ohtsu, Kazuyuki (1935 - )

Born in Isezaki, Gunma prefecture, Ohtsu Kazuyuki started learning woodblock printing in Tokyo at the Umehara Hanga Studio in Tokyo in 1954. In 1958 he became Saito Kiyoshi's student and later his assistent, and he stayed there until his master died in 1997. Only then did he embark upon an artistic career of his own. Until now he has had many exhibitions. Though the influence of Saito Kiyoshi on his work is clearly visible he has still managed to develop a style of his own.
