Biography Wako Shuji (1953 - )

Wako Shuji was born in Sendai, Japan in 1953. In 1977 he graduated from Zokei University in Tokyo.
The artist has made a name for himself with lithograph prints of Japanese-related small objects that he shows in photo-realistic, meticulous excellence, often against a black or blue background.
Works by Wako Shuji are in the collections of many of the world's most renowned museums like the British Museum or the Rockefeller Foundation.
The artist uses strong and vivid colors - except for the background.
