Biography Shimozawa, Kihachir˘ (1901 - 1984)

Kihachir˘ Shimozawa's family name was Shimoyama until 1935. Before WWII he belonged to Hiratsuka Un'ichi's circle, and in fact it was he who introduced Munakata Shik˘, who like him was also born in Aomori Prefecture, to Hiratsuka. He was a member of two important Hanga groups, the Nihon S˘saku-Hanga Ky˘kai and the Nihon Hanga Ky˘kai. He is mainly known for his landscape prints.
